Sen. Sinema leaves Democratic Party to become independent

U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona said that she is leaving the Democratic Party to become an independent, just days after Democrats secured a narrow 51-seat majority in the 100-member chamber riven by deep political divisions.
