Caribbean struggles with smelly seaweed invasion
Mexico’s Quintana Roo state, home to the white sandy beaches of Cancun and Tulum, launched clean-up operations to get rid of a seaweed known as sargassum, which emits a sewage-like stench and turned the famed turquoise snorkeling waters a sickly brown.
